Observations from Wednesday's 93-71 victory over the Wizards at AmericanAirlines Arena:
*
Dwyane Wade missed his fourth career triple-double only because the Wizards are so bad that he did not have to play in the fourth quarter.
*
Instead, he finished with 14 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in 29 minutes.
*
No Shawn Marion again. Coach Erik Spoelstra said Friday in Indiana is possible.
*
Yes, Michael Beasley took the hint and donned knee pads after Wednesday's mishap against Josh Smith.
*
Jamaal Magloire again started at center, but Joel Anthony ultimately proved to be the more efficient big man on this night.
*
Same old Mike James, this time starting 0 for 5.
*
The stands were ridiculously empty at the start. The hope is for far more Saturday against the Mavericks, when there will be a halftime tribute to Heat Olympic gold-medalists Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway and Wade.
*
After falling behind 23-18 at the end of the first quarter, the Heat started the second with Joel Anthony, Beasley, James Jones, Daequan Cook and Chris Quinn.
*
Beasley stepped up and took charge of the offense in Wade's absence, pushing the Heat into the lead.
*
Jones' first Heat 3-pointer came with 6:48 to play in the second quarter. He had been 1 of 8 from the field for the season to that point.
*
Opponents remain wise to Udonis Haslem being cast in the middle, attacking the rim without fear of deterrence. Of course, the injury-ravaged Wizards simply don't have much to attack with.
*
Cook and Mario Chalmers took out their Rookie Game snubs with several timely 3-pointers.
