UF guard works out for Wiz
Lee Humphrey surfaced on the NBA workout circuit Tuesday.
The all-time NCAA Tournament and Florida three-point record-holder attended a workout with the Washington Wizards.
The 6-foot-2 Humphrey, who is finishing his degree in exercise physiology at Florida this summer, did not take part in the NBA Predraft Camp in Orlando last month.
Humphrey is not currently projected in the NBA Draft's two rounds, but some in basketball circles believe he could end up playing professionally in Europe or make an NBA team as a free agent because of his shooting ability.
As a shooting guard, Humphrey proved his mettle as a clutch shooter. Humphrey holds the Florida career record for 3-pointers with 288. Of those, 47 came in the NCAA Tournament, which stands as another record.
"My shooting is my biggest strength coming out of Florida," Humphrey said following his workout.
Humphrey worked out with Ohio State guard Daequan Cook in a reunion of sorts. Daequan Cook and Humphrey last faced each other in April, when Florida beat Ohio State in the NCAA Tournament title game.
"Daequan Cook is a great guy, and it was fun to work out with him today," Humphrey said. " We didn't joke around too much about the national championship game."
